RESPONSIBILITY

We embrace an extended model of Social Responsibility, which aims to respond to our employees, customers and the communities we serve.

Integrated into the ETE Group, the social responsibility model adopted has an internal dimension, aimed at employees, and an external dimension, which is aimed at the surrounding community, in all the geographies in which we are present.

  • Promoting Education, science and technology – Establishing Protocols with scientific research institutions:
    • ENIDH – scholarships and training.
    • Interdisciplinary Center for Marine and Environmental Research (CIIMAR) of the University of Porto – Transporting Biologists on board our vessels to observe and record several species of cetaceans.
  • Culture and sport – Transporting equipment for local festivals and schools in the Islands.
  • Social support – Transporting supplies and equipment to attend natural disasters such as the last earthquake in the Azores, the storm of 2010 in Madeira or the eruption of the Fogo Island Volcano in Cape Verde in 2014.
  • Local development – Creating conditions for the development of local business fabric, by supporting the export of ex-libris products from the Azores and Madeira Achipelagos.
  • Health, well-being and work environment – Promotion of labor development policies.
  • Ongoing training – Contributing to strength of national Seafarers know-how.
  • Job creation, career and mobility development – Privileging the hiring of national seafarers.
  • Performance Management and Incentives – Encouraging a human resources management policy that promotes excellence and merit.
